If you would like to drive a moped then it is a good idea to order your provisional when you turn 15 and 9 months. The license can take a couple of weeks to arrive.

Should I start learning as soon as it is legal?

The answer to this depends on the individual.

If you have free time and are not busy with school or work then we would advise starting to learn as soon as possible.

However, learning to drive can be very expensive so make sure that you also take this into account when deciding to start.

With the cost of lessons, practice and tests, most people spend over £1,500 on learning to drive.

It is not ideal to have a long period away from driving. You can forget a lot of the skills in this time. So you must try your best to start when the time is right for you.
